Installing an Airplex Cover Takes One Afternoon
No welding, no drilling, no trip to a shop. Here’s the general process across our cover styles — exact steps vary slightly by product and are included in the box.
1. Clean the Bed Rails
Wipe down the factory bed rail where the clamps will sit so the seal makes full contact and the clamp hardware doesn’t slip during torque-down.
2. Position and Clamp
Set the cover (or frame, for soft covers) squarely on the rail, then hand-tighten the included J-clamps or C-clamps at each mounting point before final torque.
3. Square It Up
Check that the front and rear edges sit evenly before fully tightening — this keeps the seals compressing evenly and the tailgate latch aligning correctly.
4. Test the Latches
